Biography

Violet Vonder Haar was born in 1988 in an old run-down farmhouse on
the banks of splice creek to a hippie riverman father and an organic gardener,
herbalist mother. She grew up listening to the diverse music of the local 100_2783.jpg
community radio and the folk musicians of the Missouri river valley.
At a very early age she felt compelled to add her own voice to the mix,
after attending a children's environmental concert. She first took to the stage at the age of eight at an Earth Day festival and has never looked back.

She is currently working toward a bachelors degree in Music Education at
Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri. She is evolving each and
every day into a stronger musician and woman with the lessons life is offering her.

Her unique percussive rhythmic styling and pure voice is a perfect match. She offers a sound that is new to the folk scene, capturing an essence of a range of musical influences. She writes on a variety of subjects, from her environmental concerns to family life and relationships from the unique perspective of a young woman growing up in America in the twenty-first century, with twentieth century ideals.
